UPCOMING PROJECTS.
Ocean Sole is committed to growing our conservation and community impact year on year — and the momentum continues to build. Following a powerful 2025, where zero turtles were poached, over 24,000 mangroves have been planted, and women-led enterprises like the Ocean Mamaz expanded into regenerative farming, upcycled production, and community training, 2026 is already off to a strong start. With the expansion of our TurtleSAFE ranger team, early identification of new nests, and the growth of initiatives like the orphanage kitchen garden and papaya plantation, our model continues to scale across both land and sea.

We remain deeply committed to our people and the planet — and none of this is possible without the continued support of our Ocean Solemates around the world.
Kwa Chambo Fishermen
Kilifi, Kenya
A group of 24 fishermen with big dreams to break out of poverty and save their marine eco-system - especially a special coral garden located just opposite their landing site.

At Kwa Chambo, we are supporting fishermen to transition toward sustainable livelihoods through eco-tourism, marine stewardship, and skills training. By creating alternative income streams linked to healthy ecosystems, the program reduces pressure on reef systems while building a community-led model for long-term ocean conservation.
TurtleSAFE Program
Kilifi, Kenya
In August 2023, our commitment to marine conservation reached new heights as we secured permission from the KWS Marine Conservation Department to initiate a turtle watch program.

Through our Turtle Safe program in Kilifi, we train and employ local fishermen as conservation rangers to protect nesting sea turtles and their habitats. In 2025, the program achieved zero poaching incidents, and in early 2026 alone, three nests have already been identified — a strong indicator of improving nesting conditions and effective, community-led protection.
Ocean Sole Mamaz
Kilifi, Kenya
Along Kenya’s coastline, the Ocean Mamaz — a collective of 16 women — are leading community-driven conservation and livelihood initiatives, supporting 12 households through regenerative farming, compost production, and upcycling enterprises. Since registering as a self help group in 2023 the ladies have been unstoppable! Restoring ecosystems and building livelihoods.
Their work demonstrates how women-led systems can restore ecosystems while generating income and strengthening long-term community resilience.
